Guided Tours
Explore the Hartman Rock Garden with a trained docent on our 60-minute Signature Tour. On this tour, you will see a live demonstration of Ben Hartman’s creative process, view concrete figurines and molds not typically on display, and get inside Ben’s 1937 “Cathedral”. We offer free tours for individuals, couples, and families on one of our Community Days each year. Limit 15 people per tour. Pre-registration is required. The full schedule of Community Days will be released on March 1.
Please often ask, are tours really free? Of course they are! Back in the 1930s, Ben Hartman ended his tours at his donation bin — a converted mailbox — which was topped with a figurine of Lady Justice holding a t-square. Ben asked visitors to “judge” whether or not they received a “square deal” on their tour. If they did, he encouraged donations to support his ongoing work. We continue this tradition today, although as a 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations are anonymous, so there is no pressure!
Group Tours
For larger groups, garden clubs, and charter tours, we ask that you arrange a private tour. Private group tours are $12 per person, with an eight person minimum. Tours can be arranged up to twelve months in advance. Private tours follow the Signature Tour route, but can be customized based on your group’s interests. Custom options include Plants & Flowers, Geological. To arrange a private tour, please start by submitting a request form.
